Peace; A Far Cry

Warm Greetings of the International Peace Week to you all,

Peace; more frequently used and so rarely defined

Here are certain considerations in enlightening on the challenges and the reasons why we, the Maldivians are still troubling in co-existing democracy and peace.

Does democracy, ‘Freedom of expression’ in particular brought good changes to the serenity of this small society.

One massive difference which can conspicuously be seen in the outcome of a comparison between the pre democratic and post democratic era of this naturally nourished Island Nation is: the lost Peace, vanishing unity, and growing immorality.

The Cornerstone of the Issue

To be honest, I regret my vote for a democracy inside;

Whenever I get my sleep disrupted by those screamings and shoutings which in their context is protesting for the betterment of the Nation.

‘What Freedom means is being allowed to sing in my bath as loudly as will not interfere with my neighbour’s freedom to sing a different tune in his’ Sir Tom Stoppard

Every Protest does not compulsorily have to be a confrontation of both the ‘big’ Political Parties. If DRP’s right to Protest and MDP’s Right to protest comes concomitantly at the same position, it would only appear depraved and sound filthy. (This certainly isn’t what the father of Protestantism Martin Luther, expected from a democratic society as a protest)

Analogically, if such a right to strike fall within the scope of the right to strike guaranteed in the Constitution, Abdulla Yameen’s right to recruit thugs, in return shall permit Mohamed Nasheed to motivate thugs to enhance his political ideologies, as a right.

(I had a Ballot with Two Names; Candidate 1 A Dictator who despite serving nepotism and despotism invoked calmness by silencing the dissents, Candidate 2, a mere democracy crusader with his young ripe thoughts of changing the system even by assenting the thugs)

The second dilemma in the dark side of the same coin is the misunderstandings as to the conservative values subjecting the Divinely Commanded Morality.

I always believe Morality, not to be a pure product of religion, i.e. all the irreligious people are not immoral.

But Islamic Morality nevertheless, indicates and has proven to be distinct in nature as it is originated from the omniscient and omnipotent Allah.

The first sign of a Muslim man or a woman is not what he/she wears, neither Ibadat. It is his/her Morales and Etiquettes, if it complies with the divine guidance.

The foremost Reasons; Just Two

Growing Islamic Fundamentalism at an alarming rate

Partisan Politics

The basement of both these reasons is an understanding of importing everything, be it an outfit, an idea, a song, a drama, a movie even our language.

Maldivians believe the Arabs to be the text books of Islam and US to be guidelines of democracy. This certainly is not the truth.

Democracy and Islam are all positive and subjective ideologies and it caters diverse cultures.

To build a democracy of our own, we must be giving reference primarily to our culture, our religion and our people rather than what the World finds to be the best practice.

Who and who are responsible?

Primarily President Mohamed Nasheed; for misleading his people on what democracy expects of them and suppressing liberal voices through his Islamic Ministry; as a matter of fact opening doors for fundamentalism.

Secondly, the genuine Islamic scholars, for not acquainting the public on these wicked, vicious and sadistic group of people and not notifying public on these aggressive gangs who is defaming our culture and the religion itself.

Making Peace Possible along with Democracy?

My Freedom will be infinitive unless I get in contact with another’s feet.

My Freedom vs My Nation

This week’s overwhelming dramas of divulged call recordings, was of the central discussion all over the media, public forums, and the social networks.

Some consider it as the manipulating an arbitrary power rather than the rule ascertainable by law, indeed refraining and infringing the fundamental rights of particular people for political and personal reasons. Others alleges that, it is done for the best interest of the country. (I’m not underrating Mahloof’s flummoxing claim that an MDP man was disguising in all those recordings)

I’ll not dare to enlighten on the personal attainments, ‘some cash’, bribes, embezzlement, corruption etc , but I’ll try to address on the Constitutional and legal blunders which actually is conceptualizing all these legal and personal conflicts.

What actually is Manipulating an Arbitrary Power??

Manipulating an Arbitrary power is best described by the Latin maxim, ‘Quod principi placuit legis habet vigorem’; the sovereign having the force of law. It is negative philosophy of governance, on which in reality encompassed system of governances. Example; Parliamentary, because the Parliament is deemed to be the ruling (Slavery of Law) figure.

Who is the ‘Sovereign’ under the Constitution of Maldives? Sovereign is the highest authority in a community or a society according to the dictionaries.

In order to govern a country systematically, it is compulsory to get an acquaintance of the ‘Sovereign Power of the Country’. Is it the President, the Parliament or the Judiciary?? (In addition to Article 268; which makes the Constitution, the most supreme)

Why??

Despite, a referendum which unequivocally dogged the citizen’s demand for a Presidential System, our ‘democratic’ Constitution certainly does not comply with primary pillars of a Presidential System. (Ibrahim Ismail deserves an ovation). One Eg: Questioning Cabinet in the Parliament.

Secondly, mainly what the government argues, a right can be infringed, for the best interest of the Country, indeed for National security reasons under Article 16 (c) of the Constitution. The response from the Opposition was chiefly based on Article 24 of the Constitution, the Right to Privacy.

The accusation here relates to recalcitrance, bribing and extorting (with the assistance of the mighty ‘Alhugandumenge Hoara Waheed’ and ‘Roz’) for the sole purpose of a coup d'état or overthrowing a legitimately elected government or as pointed out in the Penal Code (s29), ‘Acts against the State’.

It is a mere accusation; it will remain so, unless it is fixed otherwise by a court of law.

Every accusation comes up with a reason. But every conviction comes up with evidences.

The reason for the accusation for an act against state is clear. But the question is with the Conviction.

Before convicting someone of an ‘act against state’, it is important to make a specific construal of the crime in contemporary contexts.

Beyond doubt, the justice system in a totalitarian society and a democratic society will be utterly different, not only in terms of fundamental rights but also in the consideration of crimes, ‘politically’ recognized crimes in particular.

Surely, it cannot be what Nasir wished it to be, because he is no more, it cannot be what Gayyoom wished it to be, as he is been democratically dumped.

In Essence, what we need for this circumstance is a democratic approach, a legal discourse on obsolete laws such as this.

Expecting sensibleness out of Insanity.

Finally, I’m declaring my faith which apparently, is necessary in this country.

I am a Sunni Muslim. Some call me an extremist, others call me a secularist. The former justify their view saying that I am too concerned about religion. The latter justify their view saying that I am against the “noble” scholars.

But I believe in the Holy Scriptures from God and appreciate the religious scholars, but not hypocrites, not extremists, not the people who condemns peace in the name of Islam.

In my point of view, Islam is the religion of peace. If five fingers of right hand represent five pillars of Islam, then the whole left hand represents peace.
If you want me to promote bloodshed saying that it is Islam, just “GO TO HELL”. I’ll not dare to do that.

However I am pleased with the critics, published on Muraasil. But as I said, if any of my Articles hurt anybody’s cherished beliefs, just let me know. I will be glad to override peace, over my point of view. And if you can come up with a better justification, believe me I will in high spirits accept you and alter my point of view as I’ve done before.

One more mind boggling thing, that I’m allied with Hilath Rasheed. Look, following someone in blogging doesn’t mean that I support him or I’m allied with him. I follow Hilath Rasheed’s site because it helps me in updating my knowledge day by day on Science, Technology, and amusing things in this country.

I decided to remove some parts of the post “Who is a genuine follower of Prophets Sunnah” in this blog. It’s not changing my point of view or showing remorse, but for the sake of some of the readers’ requests.(Including Islamic Scholars in this country)

Here are the details of what I removed.., (The removed parts are bolded)

Just a factory of hairs all over the chin and cheek, and wearing a pant which probably fits to your son will not make you, a follower of holy Prophet’s Sunnah. Because the chin and cheek are not the organs, specialized to sustain your beliefs. It is your heart and the brain. (They might be hiding their aqeedha inside the beard)

(If I get a satisfactory justification, that what I’ve written is baseless, or a harassment of anyone’s cherished beliefs.. Just let me know.. I’ll remove it.. But remember, it must be a reasonable justification)

Glitters turning into a hellhole

We’ve being frequently hearing about death threats, extortion, and bullying in this country, in the name of Islam since the new government came into power. Might be for the reason, the genuine “Sunni scholars” got the authority to systematize the evils. (as Gayyoom is not among them)

Behead someone!! Hang him!! Kill him!! Islam desperately wants it from you! It is obligatory in Islam!!

One single verse can answer all these misconceptions; “Bimillahi Rahmani Raheem” In the name of the most merciful and the beneficent god (Almighty Allah SWA).

“Islam teaches tolerance, not hatred; universal brotherhood, not enmity; peace, and not violence.” Pervez Musharraf

If Islam is that aggressive, belligerent and abysmal it even encourages killing, what makes a mediocre between Islam and other whimsical philosophies (religions)?

Christians are bad, because it encourages fornication; Jews are bad because they encourage combustions among the people. These are all defected religions, which is the reason we embraced Islam, and if it encourages intimidation, one day even a neutral Muslims might claim that Islam is a defected religion.

A Sunni Muslim

Some of our people think that Arabs (Talibans in particular) are the text books of Sunni Muslims.

Hell No!! It is not me, who is saying that, it’s the holy Quran. If they (The Arabs) way of life is the real Sunni’s way of life, the big Arabs wouldn’t be losing everything to the Non-Muslims.

Did God not say in His glorious Book:

“God defends those who believe. God does not like any betrayer, rejecter.” (Qur’an 22:38)

“O you who believe, if you support God, He will support you, and make your foothold firm.” (Qur’an 47:7)

It is not due to a lack of prayers, or the length of the beard, or the dress code of women that God has abandoned the Muslims. It has been because we have abandoned God’s word and have taken other paths and other gods besides Him without even realizing it.

God tells us that we are supposed to resort to His Book for judgment, yet we see Muslims time and time again resorting to their Imams, or scholars, or leadership, or the Arab League.

“And We have sent down to you the Scripture with truth, authenticating what is present of the Scripture and superseding it. So judge between them by what God has sent down, and do not follow their desires from what has come to you of the truth. For each of you We have made laws, and a structure; and had God willed, He would have made you all one nation, but He tests you with what He has given you; so strive to do good. To God you will return all of you, and He will inform you regarding that in which you dispute. And judge between them by what God has sent down, and do not follow their wishes, and beware lest they divert you away from some of what God has sent down to you. If they turn away, then know that God wants to inflict them with some of their sins; and most of the people are corrupt. Is it the judgment of the days of ignorance that they seek? Who is better than God as a judge for a people that comprehend?” (Qur’an 5:48-50)

Regardless to the genuineness, we only make ourselves fully ready to assault anyone who condemns Islam.

Why don’t we make a different approach, a more reasonable approach, an approach through the first pillar of Islam; that is by the Education.

C’mon!! If they are using their pens, to humiliate us, we must hit back with our Islamic Education (which revolved the western civilizations even).

It’s the time, We the Muslim’s to catch the position we’d before (of Science, Mathematics, Geography etc), rather than chasing the faith related issues.

The Freedom of Expression and Islam.

From the first instance, I certainly couldn’t believe that we can bring what the West’s call “modern democracy” to this country alongside Islam.

Nevertheless, our government was too “hung up” in crusading the viewpoints of the United Kingdom (Conservative Party in particular). Indeed was in a fallacy that, everything U.K does is right and democratic. Which left us, without a democratic forecast, and future plans to strengthen our democracy.

Most noteworthy, we weren’t aware whether we were supposed to democratize Islam or Islamize democracy. (A teacher of mine, ridiculed me when I asked about it, saying it is like “Kaigeney furaany, Nuka’eh nufuraanamey”) I interpret the former as shaping the religion to manner democracy desires, which means giving much priority to the democracy. The latter, as shaping the democracy, to the way Islam demands, here the priority is with the religion (Islam).

You might wonder, how it relates to the extortion.

It is absolutely related!! The one, who extorts, says that, He is a Muslim and it is Waajib in Islam. The one who exercises his freedom of expression guaranteed in the Constitution alleges that, he utilized a constitutional right.

Here, it is necessary, to determine, what actually draws the borderlines of the “Morality of Freedom”, is it Islam or Modern Democracy. (Compare Article 16 and Article 10 of the Constitution)

The perplexity; what has to override here, the constitutional right or the Islam?

(However, these dilemmas could be solved, if our “religious scholars” target their sermons to such topics, rather than blabbering about the Heaven, Hell and the sexual fantasies. )

Haram Dilemma

I always hated hearing the hideous categories of Muslims, Moderate Muslims, Militant Muslims Fundamental Muslims etc etc.

However, Last week I discovered another mortifying category of Muslims, I considered calling them strict Haram Muslims. Meaning; for them the Harams must be strictly prohibited regardless to the Halaals ands the Waajibs.

This was a conversation between two College students. This conversation is based on a factual incident.

Alhu Kaleyge: Hey!! Did you apply for the Loan Scheme 2010?

Arabi Muslim Zuvaanaa: No..!! Did you??

Alhu Kaleyge: Yes!! Your government has left no option for us… By the way.. Why didn’t you??

Arabi Muslim Zuvaana: A hesitation.. You know.. Before attempting on something Haram..

Alhu Kaleyge: That could possibly be the case of 5% interest.. Right??

Arabi Muslim Zuvaana: Yes!! Plainly, it is “Riba”

Alhu Kaleyge: (In a state of hysteria)

Arabi Muslim Zuvaana: Hey.. Sorry but I got to go.. See you around..

A nice story, Right?? (Not a predictable story of the hero defeating the Villain with his overgenerous action tactics. )

I suppose my “right to remain silent” in case of recognizing Riba.

Perhaps there is something my logic always condemns, if Islam is satiated of restrictions with just a narrow line of freedom, millions wouldn’t be embracing the belief in each year.

“Humans hates restriction and love freedom”, it is a anthropologically proven fact.

5% interest is Haram, Business haram, colourful veils Haram, pants Haram, Earrings Haram, Love Haram, Motorcycles Haram, Cards haram, Banks Haram, Entertainments Haram, Traffic Light Haram, Parliament Haram, Politics Haram, Elections Haram, and as Sheikh Hussain Rasheed claimed voting Gayyoom is also a big “Haraam”.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer!!! So what is Halaal??

Islam is the religion of peace, religion of freedoms, and the religion of justice. Not the religion of complications, harshness, impediments, terrors and callousness.

If I am praying and someone knocks at the door, and there is no one else in the house. Islam seeks a remedy for me that is necessity (Daruriyat). Under Necessity I can go and open the door.

“Whoever is alarmed by anything whilst praying, let men say ‘Subhan-Allaah’ and let women clap.” (Agreed upon. Al-Bukhaari, 1234; Muslim, 421).

In summary, according to my logic, if drinking wine is not Haram in case of necessity, approaching a loan involving interest would and cannot be Haram in a circumstance which hardens my life without it.

Apparently, the adversity is not prevailing Haram over Halaal, it is with making everything Haram.

MDP as the Opposition

As we all know MDP’s consistent civil disobediences, hunger strikes, and demonstrations, all was for a particular reform and to overthrow a gigantic ego. And they were fortunate enough to terminate an autocratic government, within the peripheries of laws of the Island.

Perhaps MDP was persistently criticized for breaking the “rule of law”. We had the right to strike even under the blue Constitution, but to the extent the laws allow. And the law itself was figured out in an over influenced Parliament. The “justice” was always behind the bars and the genuine criminals had scandalous tradition of finding the loop holes in the laws and abscond through it. The Prosecution was overwhelmingly praised for conquering the 99% cases on their side. The facts and the actual statistics (even of the census) were always concealed. Social Justice was delayed and commonly denied. In fact, justice was on the verge of extinction.

DRP as the oppositions

DRP, is a political party formed around a particular political figure as most of their members acknowledges. His Excellency Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom, possibly the most popular icon all around the shattered 200 islands of the country. Some consider him equivalent to the creator (God), and some sounds like granting the prophet hood to him.

He is customarily appreciated and praised for the educational and economical developments in his “long” thirty years holding the office.

Conversely, he is domestically criticized for nepotism and the international community was unswervingly criticizing him for his employing terror tactics against dissidents such as arbitrary arrests , suppressing the media, detention without trial employing torture, forcing confessions and politically motivated killings in his presidential period.

The state was made by Gayyoom, and it must end in the hands of Gayyoom. DRP harcore fans allege, and strappingly demand it. And now they are consistently attempting on overthrowing the current government via an Armageddon.

We’ve a democratic based legal infrastructure, we’ve the routine for check and balances and we have the absolute openings to enjoy our autonomy.

YES!! The government has recently committed plenty of blunders relating to the formulation of the policies. Policies are amendable, and feasibly abolishable.

In addition, if DRP wishes Gayyoom to be the President over and over again, just wait for the proper occasion, the legitimate time to accomplish your desire.

Calling for the resignation of the President, protesting for the impeachment of a judge, striking for the removal of a Cabinet Minister and protestors attempting on entering into the National Security quarters is some thing entirely different and dodgy, I consider it even equivalent to a Coup d'Etat.

In my point of view a government had to be overthrown, in the circumstances to change the whole system of governance, to amend the uncongenial laws (if there is no other option), to terminate absolute hypocrisy and consistent breach of rule of law.

(Plotting to overthrow a government is a serious business for serious people. Please don't try it "just for a laugh", if you fail you might find that there are some very pissed people looking for you afterwards...."Mekunu fumunakas, Gaahakayakah nufumeveyne..")

The 6th Promise; A mandatory Midterm Election

A hot, but an amusing topic. A midterm election?? The legitimacy of a midterm election?? A Presidential promise?? The over hanged DQP’s yearning?? The validity of the Promises in the Presidential Campaign??

More than once, I heard “Mr Mohamed Nasheed” divulging the significance of a midterm election during the Presidential campaign. He was repeatedly alleging that, he has no intention of enjoying a dictatorial leadership, or a autocratic rules and hold the office for a prolonged period of time. ( It is important to be noted that, he had no intention of becoming a president before the MDP’s Presidential Primaries, The guy was compelled to contest in the Elections… I suppose the credit to the MDP diehard fans of him)

DQP, which is over concerned, over the issue of Mid-Term election demands it strappingly. It seems they have the genuine objective of bringing a 3 horse presidential race into existence.

Legitimacy

Article 107 of the Constitution: The President shall hold the office for a term of five years and no person elected as President pursuant to this Constitution shall serve for more than two terms in the office whether consecutive or otherwise.

Article 121 of the Constitution (a) The president may resign from office by writing under his hand submitted to the Speaker of the People’s Majlis, and the office shall become vacant when the resignation is received by the Speaker

Article 121(b) of the Constitution, the Vice President may resign from office by writing under his hand submitted to the President, and the office shall become vacant when the resignation is received by the
President.

The creepy side of the coin

A mid-term election is not a legal issue in any circumstance, neither a constitutional issue. It only relates to a particular desire, a political promise and the blabbermouth of a President.

A political desire of a small object with a big heart, a mendacious political promise of a Presidential candidate in his Presidential campaign, and a trouble created by the pestering mouth of a President.

Nevertheless…

It wasn’t President Nasheed who made the promise; it is the Presidential Candiate Mohamed Nasheed.

Candidate Nasheed, who dressed peculiarly, had abominable manners, spoke with an incomprehensible dialect. And President Nasheed, the royal, ostentatious person.

I guess it is a blatant case of “Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD)”. The two personalities are President Nasheed, who is a silent (despite a blabbermouth), royal, majestic and honest guy. Absolutely pure guy. The second Presidential Candidate Nasheed, a violent, and dishonest figure. President Nasheed will not have any knowledge regarding what the Candidate Nasheed promised or did. MPD, is a complete defense in criminal courts of laws also. Why can’t it be admissible here.

Close the mercilessly bullying eyes.. Being a female!! Biggest fault??

Why don’t you go to school?? Why don’t you go to mosque?? Why don’t you go for a job?? Why don’t you consult to a good doctor?? Why don’t you get socialized??

Her answer for all these questions was same, “because I am a female?” My husband, my brother or my father will kill me if I dare to do that??

It is not amusing anymore, neither ignorable. It is just frustrating for me, perilous for our society and excruciating for these victims.

Our panicky Islamic Ministry just took few minutes to ban the DJs against the majority of the youth (includes gangsters, drug smugglers etc.)

And when it comes to stop these tarnished bullies, the Ministry hesitates. Why??

Is being a female really a fault, if so, the fault is committed by the god? By telling his followers that:

Whoever does right, whether male or female, (all) such will enter the garden-40:40

For Muslim men and women - for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in charity, for men and women who fast (and deny themselves), for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in God's praise - for them has God prepared forgiveness and great reward- 33:35

Just because they are physically inferior to us, doesn’t allow us to possess them as sex toys, as something which ought to fulfill our sexual fantasy. Believe the verity that they have duties to almighty Allah and they have their own social duties in their lives, just as a male. As far as I’m concerned, love, mercy, intimacy and mutual protection and modesty are the qualities expected of an Islamic marriage. Even in Paradise marriage remains as one of the great joys.

The Prophet said: The most perfect believers are the best in conduct and the best of you are those who are best to their wives. (Hadith: Ibn Hanbal)

"A lady around in a tight blouse must be irritated", (please!! brothers I need a reference for this particular verse.) Is that what the prophet taught us? Is that how it has to be in Islam?

Why don’t you ignore her?? Why don’t you avoid looking at her?? Most noteworthy why don’t you remain in your own business?? (C’mon shits, you are supposed to count the blocks on the street)

YES!! The appearance of a woman is of her private concern, I am sure there wouldn’t be any matured women in this country, without the knowledge of the dress codes in Islam. Hence there is no need of nagging each and everyone without the veil, on the road in the name of calling them for the religion.

“If they accept Islam, then indeed they follow the right way; and if they turn back, your duty (O Prophet) is only to deliver the message.” 3:20

So who the hell are these injudicious Mullahs!! If you have such an unswerving “aqeedha”, why should you be concerned with what others wears or do?

Islamic law makes no demand that women should confine themselves to household duties. In fact the early Muslim women were found in all walks of life. The first wife of the Prophet, mother of all his surviving children, was a businesswoman who hired him as an employee, and proposed marriage to him through a third party; women traded in the marketplace.

In addition, why should we get so aroused when even we see toe finger of a female, why wouldn’t them??

I know women’s have special dress codes and a special ways of living in Islam. But that doesn’t mean that we must be staring at each and every lady around, harass them in the public and be having their imaginations in the bathroom.

The petrified Islamic Ministry and their “scholars” always allege that a woman deserves respect and she must be respected by the men in all the circumstances. What is a respect?? Is locating the lady in a comfortable position and f**king her hard even without her consent, is giving respect?? Is avoiding their career, is giving respect?? Is leaving them till they die (just to make sure a male doctor does not touch this “reverential” creature) is giving respect??

If this is what you call “respect”, “Shame on the Universities which graduated you in the name of religious scholars??”

The message I want to deliver to these ferocious Mullahs is , “IT IS JUST NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS”

The blunder is not with the religion or its philosophies, it is with the male-dominated Muslim world who has been denying opportunities to its women in almost every sphere of life, be it religion, education or other social issues. This is so because, according to them, all that women are meant for is for getting married, working as a sex machine and producing children. The property rights and financial independence of women are very much there in Islam, it’s the Muslim men, who treat women as commodity, and deny them of these privileges.

We will never find success and/or solutions to our problems until we realise that Allaah knows best and that this disbelieving society will ruin itself.

(Any individual, movement or a organisation working for the rights, upliftment, liberation and emancipation of women must possibly be being “laadheenee”. )

3rd November: a negligence, a deception or a conspiracy

For the last 20 years,on the day, we were supposed to remember the martyrs and pray for them, we were only allowed to accuse the PLOTES, Sagarey and Luthfee for this armed aggression, we were sanctioned to express that, no more, no less.

But yesterday, for the first time since this catastrophe, our media happens to air the facts, the specifics indeed the reality.

In addition, yesterday for the first time, I (a guy born, 405 days after this terrorist attack) got enough information along with plenty of video evidence which conceptualized the confusion in my mind that, whether it was a negligence, a deception or a conspiracy.

In one of the videos, I heard President Gayyoom acknowledging, that he and his brother in law, Ilyas Ibrahim was aware of the terrorism attempt to overthrow the government; Mr Abdul Majeed Khalid provided the information on time. He alleged that on the spot his government took the precautions, which ultimately was the reason for the failure of the mercenaries, in short for our success.

However according to Copral Naseem (at the time) and many of other NSS officers (at the time), it was a surprise attack, and they have never thought or were never ready to face an armed aggression like it was.

That is the reason; I considered calling it a negligence.

Overwhelmingly, hundreds of civilians and militants were killed (martyred), thousands were brutally assaulted, and still we are being “obliged” to consider it as a success. Will anything sound more sickening than this?? It might be a success for Gayyoom and his cronies in sustaining their dictatorship (Most thanks to that washing machine, for protecting our government as a whole)

I preferred to call it a “deception” for this reason

In accordance to Defence Minister Ameen Faisal, the current government have discovered that the “key of the weapon stock” of NSS was not in the quarters of NSS. (Most probably it must also be in the precious washing machine)

This compelled me to call it a conspiracy.

I would like to see, the first democratically elected government of this country making a democratic approach to this ruthless crime by mean of a transparent investigation.

We have only identified the direct offenders of this crime; still we have got to recognize the abettors.

A big bold “THANK YOU”, for our Islamic Ministry

An Islamic banking system is something which we all are ravenous for. Speaking frankly, I’ll never want to invest my income in a manner prohibited in Islam.

Tomorrow I am going to terminate my account in Bank of Maldives. That bank is a secular one, I guess its anti Islamic too.

I am going to ask my friends who are working there in the Bank of Maldives, to leave their job. As serving in such an anti Islamic institution is “Haram” which consequently would make their remunerations also Haram. Oh god!! “Save my buddies and their children from eating forbidden food”

I advice the management of the Bank of Maldives to dissolve their anti Islamic business and sack all of their Maldivian employees. We don’t want to get involve or crusade your anti Islamic business.

The concept of simple and compound interests involves “ribaa”. And as we all know “ribaa” is “haram” in Islam.

The message to Bank of Maldives in short is that there is no need of Islamizing your business; just go on with your “haram” business and provide the damn “haram” service to everyone of this so called 100% muslim country. In the meantime our Islamic bank in association with our “levelheaded” Islamic Ministry will provide us Islamic banking.

Our “virtuous” Islamic Ministry and their cogent policies will never abscond and leave us alone. If not with the “will” they will “Islamize” our country even by compulsion.

It’s my pleasure to acknowledge my fault by investing my money in a “haram” comportment. I would like to see Bank of Maldives doing the same, and terminating their “haram” business immediately.

Why only "YELLOW" and "BLUE"?

Is cutting the wages of the civil servants compulsory, for the economical settlement?

If the answer is YES!! He/she will be labeled in yellow or as a follower of MDP, and if it is NO!! He/she must be a native of DRP.

This is the day, the public believes that there is a bias or favor for a particular party, if in a court case involving an MDP and DRP member, the judge happens to give the verdict fairly basing on the evidences also.

This is the general notion of our society today. This in my opinion is a sarcastic, irrational, impractical, and sardonic belief which has to change immediately.

A political belief or a political opinion does not compulsorily have to belong to a particular political party.

For example, there might be a one who believes that Presidential Commission is a legitimate one but its composition is not. There might be a one in whose point of view, cutting the wages of the civil servants is necessary for economical settlement, but it is not a decision supposed to be made or announced by the president.

In fact these are the beliefs, which is indispensable for the betterment of the country.

In addition, we have got to believe the fact that there might be circumstances where both the “BIG” parties might be wrong. There might or usually be circumstances where none of them are working for the citizens. There might be circumstances where these parties are attempting on duping us.

I strappingly call the media who is highly involved in promoting this partisan politics to stop it and start giving equal chances for different political parties and several political opinions.

Giving the equal chances does not mean that, in a program along with four invitees, two must be from DRP and two from MDP. One of my friends, working at Dhi TV told me that it is to make the programs interesting.

What is so interesting or fascinating about it? It sounds more like a nursery grade class room. YES!! If that is supposed to make the audience laugh, believe me, none of the countries would have ever aired such a comedy. Just carry on with it.

I advice, everyone of this country to get out of this stubborn partisan politics, to stop getting frustrated with others political opinions, to change the belief that each and everyone must belong to one of the big political party, to stop switching off the T.V, just because the man on T.V is not from a so called “BIG” political party.

I can guarantee you one thing; the best and the most prudent politicians have not yet joined any of the “BIG” political parties.

Hello!! All the readers of my blog.
I’ve realised that, some of this blog readers comment without reading the inclusive post.

YES!! In one of the posts I said I don’t like to study Shari’ah subjects because it does not teach us how to use our logics within the boundaries. I will keep on saying it again and again.

But one thing some of you failed to understand was my motive behind that post. I was not about to crticize Shari’ah in that particular post.

And it is significant to be noted that I never demanded to throw away Shari’ah from the mechanism of studying law. It couldn’t even be done as far as Article 10 , Article 19 and Article 142 of the Constitution is concerned.

What I ordained is the changes that should be brought to the system of studying Shari’ah. The amendments to the syllabuses of Shari’ah subjects. Quite simply I demanded for a new module of studying Shari’ah.

For example: I would like to know a better comparison and the superiority of Islamic Shari’ah to all others, in the Subject Islamic Legal System (Thaareekh Al Thashreeul Islam)

I had a conversation with an Ukrainian lady (via MSN) 2-3 months before, a jounalist and a presenter in a secular TV channel. I certainly gave a quite a bit introduction of mine and meanwhile asked this lady.

Why are you doing such peculiar job,

She replied, Why are studying such an harsh and obsolete legal system.

I said Islam is not obsolete and neither harsh, In Shari’ah, a wrong doer cannot abscond, If not today he/she will be entitled to the punishment on judgment day.

She replied, Is pedophilia a wrong in Islamic Shari’ah? I hurrily said YES!!

She replied So, why did Mohamed committed pedophilia? Why did Mohamed married a 7 year old girl even before her menstruation.

To be honest, I was kind of frustrated, but with the gods grace I tolerated her and tried to give her a reasonable argument.

YES!! I can tell her how that situation is mentioned in Sunnah, I can keep on giving her Quranic point of views.

C’mon, lets think practically, she won’t believe all these stuffs, which they consider as fanciful notions of Muslims.

That is where as I mentioned in that post, we have to use the “logic”. I have to prove her using my brain that the truth is mentioned in Sunnah.

In brief, I want to study Shari’ah in a manner which I can prove the disbelievers that Shari’ah is the premium legal infrastructure with its enduring significance. If not I’ll never say “I like to study Shari’ah subjects”.

A momentous declaration

Yesterday and last night, I got several comments via facebook and mobile, positive and negative, from many of my friends regarding some of the posts in this blog.

But I’m not going to give any comments to the positives which I can assure got more than the negatives.

From the negative comments I certainly appreciate some of the comments, like my colleague Mahaz gave.

YES!! I was mistaken there by mentioning “beardies” in general, that’s why I told him what I meant there in the very next comment.

Hereafter and wherever in this blog “beardies” means the people with beard just for the sake of appearance in the name of Islam.

Therefore I apologize for using the term “beardies” in general.

I was not really surprised with some declaring my faith. As I always said, the aqeedha meter is with the intolerant people.

I am not an Atheist, secularist or an extremist. I am an ordinary muslim, just a “muslim”, and I don’t prefer to be more than that.

My point of view in this blog regarding the religion is not intended to criticize Shari’ah from almighty god. It is only based on critical points which I find with scholars and their contradictory issues.

And about “me, talking without knowing anything?” teach me the so called truth, teach me why should I believe some of the concepts just because someone said so.

They quote the Quranic Ayat 59:2 ("Consider, O You who have vision").

(I hereby declare that I have and will never violate any of my limitations. I’ll not steal a pen drive and create a separate blog for the purpose of uploading the pictures in that pen drive just to defame a particular group of people)

The controversy of Article 9 of the Constitution

The Article regarding the citizens of Maldives (Article 9) of the Constitution is the most controversial Article I found throughout the Constitution from the first instance.

The Article 9 states
(a) The following persons are citizens of the Maldives:
1. citizens of the Maldives at the commencement of this Constitution;
2. children born to a citizen of the Maldives; and
3. Foreigners who, in accordance with the law, become citizens of the Maldives.
(b) No citizen of the Maldives may be deprived of citizenship.
(c) Any person who wishes to relinquish his citizenship may do so in accordance with law.
(d) Despite the provisions of article (a) a non-Muslim may not become a citizen of the
Maldives.

I have several questions to ask regarding this provision of the Constitution

#1. What if a Maldivian renounces Islam? Will he be deprived of his citizenship? As far as the sub article (b) states it cannot be done.

I asked the same question to numerous lawyers (I don’t want to mention the names here), but the answer most of them came up with, never convinced me. Because they either get over emotional or are in lack of constitutional knowledge, and says that if a citizen of Maldives renounces Islam he will lose his citizenship.

My argument is if that interpretation is correct, it would violate:

Article 9 (b) of the Constitution mentioned above,

Article 15 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states that
(1) Everyone has the right to a nationality.
(2) No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his nationality nor denied the right to change his nationality

Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which affirms the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

Section 2(b) of the Human Rights Commission Act of Maldives, which says that, the Human Rights Commission of Maldives is obliged to protect, promote and sustain human rights in Maldives in accordance with regional and international conventions and declarations which the Maldives is a party to.

To the extent I know, Maldives is a party to Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and United Nations Human Rights Convention (UNHCR).

Except the answer from my Constitutional Law lecturer (a member of Peoples Special Majlis who enacted this Constitution), the answers I got were sarcastic, unreasonable and sometimes humiliating.

What she said was, YES! It is loop hole in the Constitution. And in her point of view a non-Muslim should not possess the citizenship in this country for its serenity. However, for that it must unambiguously be cited in the Constitution.

Besides, if we interpret this article as she did, consequence would be the creation of plenty of refugees, which is strongly condemned in all the internationally recognized Human Rights conventions.

#2 Does Islamic Shari’ah really require expanding the Muslim population, even by force. The force I mean here is the “Constitutional force”, I discussed above.

YES! Many of the Maldivians are compelled to believe the religion, by this indirect anti Islamic statement in the Constitution, “If you want to uphold your citizenship, you must be a muslim”

The Qur'an states that no one should be forced to profess a religion. Hence there is no way we can argue that it is Islamic point of view.

(“There is no compulsion in religion — the right way is indeed clearly distinct from error.” 2:256)

The duty of the Messenger of Allah, and, following him, the duty of every Muslim is only to deliver the message of truth and no more.

“If they accept Islam, then indeed they follow the right way; and if they turn back, your duty (O Prophet) is only to deliver the message.” 3:20

My problem is with the Maldivians who are pretending like believers of Islam, just because they want to sustain their citizenship. My problem is with the illegitimate constitutional force, which just desires to watch us named a 100% nominal Muslim country.

Basically in all the Constitutions since 1932, In order to be a citizen of Maldives, the one must compulsorily be a Muslim.

Hence most of us consider this as a necessity for the Maldivians life. Many of us consider it as inheritance from our ancestors with enduring significance. Some of us consider it as a necessity in order to be a Maldivian.

But I would say, believe the religion by heart, not because it is a necessity.

What have we got because of this prerequisite for the citizenship, an overwhelming bunch of atheists (who even admits it), plenty of secularists, hundreds of extremists and thousands of drug addicts.

Just labeling as a 100% Muslim country will never make us “faithful” believers of god. “Faith” is made of beliefs, and beliefs cannot be built by coercion.

“And if your Lord had pleased, all those who are in the earth would have believed, all of them. Will you then force people till they are believers?” — 10:99

Who is a genuine follower of holy Prophet's Sunnah??

During the presidential campaign a heavy beard colleague of mine told me that, President Nasheed have the possiblity to win, because non of the followers of Prpophet’s Sunnah will vote Maumoon.

Usually I never discuss the religious stuffs with the tarnished Mullahs, but just because he was a friend of mine, I asked him, Who are the followers of Prophet’s Sunnah? He said it was the ones who appears like prophet Mohamed (it seems like they have a photo album with them) and the believers who sacrifice his life in Jihad for muslim community.

I remained without a reply, as I know the one I am supposed to come up with will surely terminate our friendship (Since I have experienced their standard of tolerance).

However, I will make my reply to that statement here (I hope he will be reading this post).

I know I am not a scholar, neither a beardy, But I conveyed not just “Laa ilaaha illallah” but “Mohamed Rasulullah” too. Because I believe in holy Quran, and as far as it goes, there are no muslims, who do not believe in Prophet’s Sunnah. Which means “all the muslims are Sunni muslims”.

Just a factory of hairs all over the chin and cheek, will not make you, a follower of holy Prophet’s Sunnah.Because the chin and cheek are not the organs which is specialized to sustain your beliefs. It is your heart and the brain.

I will dare to call a follower of the prophet to a man, who is being caught in a cyber café’ while watching a hardcore porn movie, a man who is being caught, while masturbating in a parked car (by watching the tourists around), a man who sexually harasses his own daughter, a man who is being held guilty for pedophilia, a man who commits terrorism in the name of Jihad, a man who sells alcohol and inform others that it is Haram, A man who wears women’s Hijaab to avoid police’s recognition etc. I doubt whether they are muslims even (As I don’t have the aqeedha meter, I can’t check it).

My advice for you my friend is, never try to become superior by inciting religious disunity in this country in the name of promoting the Prophet’s Sunnah.

For whom I voted??

This confusion disturbs me whenever I get to listen a DRP friend or a politician. They allege that the ones voted for President Nasheed was in actual, voting for a coalition.

As far as I am concerned, I voted for a democracy crusader,

I voted for the man, who made us to deem, that this country is ours,

I voted for the man, who was shouting from his lungs to terminate the autocratic regime,

I voted for the political party, who came up with a manifesto which I can believe in.
The rationale behind my vote was to see this autonomous leader as the president of this country, this democratic party ruling this country, most noteworthy this manifesto to accomplish in this country.

I assure you, I’m not among the 25.2% of the voters of President Nasheed in the first round.
To be honest, I have not ticked inside the box beside number 2, because some high profiled politicians was buttressing the numbered candidate.

The clearest thing is that the supplementary amount of votes (25.2%-52.8%) President Nasheed got in the final round of the election was screaming “for a sweet good-bye to the notorious dictatorship”

I have these messages to the DRP fans, which possibly could not be digestible,
Believe the fact, that President Nasheed defeated the candidates of the coalition to qualify for the second round.

President Nasheed got 52.8% votes, and defeated Asia’s longest ruling server (Zaeemul Azhar).

And, finally President Nasheed, the former political prisoner is the president of this country for numerous reasons.

Condemning the opinions is general in a partisan politics,But refusing the rule of majority is not.
